If Nicolas Cage is the true murderer, he may be the most scary serial killer on screen.
Oz Perkins, the writer/director of “The Blackcoat’s Daughter” (2015), “I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House” (2016), and “Greta and Hansel” (2020), is back with his latest horror film, “Longlegs,” which Cage both stars in and produces.
Perkins is officially billed as Osgood Perkins for “Longlegs.” He is the son of “Psycho” actor Anthony Perkins. Producing the movie are Oddfellows, C2 Motion Picture Group, Range, Traffic, and Cage’s Saturn Pictures. Performer
The film is around a string of esoteric killings linked to the background of an FBI agent (Maika Monroe). In the movie, which also stars Cage, Blair Underwood, and Alicia Witt, a cold case is reopened.
In an earlier interview for Document Journal, Cage hinted to his role in an interview with horror legend John Carpenter. The Oscar winner made a suggestion that because his character is experiencing “hearing voices,” he could be the murderer. Making these dolls is analogous to a Geppetto under a spell.
“You undoubtedly know Oz [Perkins], with whom I’m working. Right now, he’s fairly successful in the horror genre. However, Cage went on, “He’s truly Anthony [Perkins’] son. “He has directed some excellent films. “Hansel and Gretel” was excellent.
Next, Monroe will play the same character from “It Follows” in a forthcoming Neon sequel to the 2014 movie “They Follow.” Ten years after the first movie’s release, a sequel was given the go-ahead, with writer/director David Robert Mitchell serving as both the film’s creator and director once more. Along with Erik Rommesmo, Rebecca Green, Laura Smith, and David Kaplan, the original film’s producer, he will also produce. Good Fear Content’s Chris Bender and Jake Weiner are also producing.
“It Follows”… came afterAfter having a one-night stand, Monroe, a young lady, finds herself the target of an unidentified supernatural force that can take the form of any random person and hunts her.
In the meantime, Neon is also handling distribution for Perkins’ directing of the Stephen King adaption “Bad Monkey,” which stars Theo James.
On July 12, “Longlegs” will debut.
